Our Story

In April of 2007, four partners came together to found ZinkoTek based on their common vision of a construction system that provides both educational and entertainment value to children. One key element of the system is the basic design, which is meant to grow in complexity as the child grows.

The four partners bring a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship to the organization. The Chief Finance Officer, Aaron Weinstock, is a new business development specialist with a vision for making new companies successful. Inventor John Sinisi, a real-life version of Tom Hanks’ character in the movie “Big”, brings 25 years of experience in industrial design, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing to the development of the ZinkoTek construction system. A 25 year toy industry product development and marketing expert, Steve Cohen is responsible for ZinkoTek’s Marketing and Sales. Ramiro Gomez brings to ZinkoTek a wealth of experience and knowledge with past roles in industrial engineering and manufacturing as well as production.

Combining their talents, vision and years of experience, Aaron, John, Steve and Ramiro have together created an intellectually stimulating construction system that is completely open-ended as well as large scaled. It allows children to create a variety of structures that then offer added value because the child can actually play inside whatever they created. The partners wanted to take children to the next level of play where they could challenge themselves to expand their imaginations.

ZinkoTek is manufactured from safe, eco-friendly, EVA Foam material and colorful plastic nuts and bolts. The ZinkoTek construction system is the first of many new and exciting learning products the company intends to launch in the upcoming year.

Incorporated in January 2008, ZinkoTek is headquartered in San Rafael, California and the product is manufactured in Mexico. The name ZinkoTek was born by combining the last letter of each partner’s last name to form “Zink,” adding “O” from the last letter in Mexico, the manufacturing base, and “Tek,” which symbolizes the technical merits of this new creative construction system.

With several U.S. and global patents pending, ZinkoTek sells its products in the mass market, specialty toy and educational markets.
